Miracles for Kids Raises Over $1.5 Million at Hybrid Charity Event
Miracles for Kids is a non-profit organization located in Southern California that provides aid to hundreds of critically-ill children and the families that care for them. When TOAST was brought in to produce their annual charity auction, the event was designed for 500 attendees in a sprawling grand ballroom. But as COVID persisted through the summer, we transformed Night of Miracles into a collection of seven different safe and intimate dining and entertainment experiences.
To ensure the safety of guests, we installed self-registration stations with virtual temperature checks, and made COVID testing available at select locations. All events were connected with a virtual auction, where attendees could follow along from each venue. At Montage Laguna Beach, our primary location where the auction was held, guests enjoyed entertainment from Le Petit Cirque and dined with an oceanfront view. In San Juan Capistrano, attendees were greeted with lei and surrounded by Hawaiian installations with surfboards and a Land Rover Station Wagon as they watched hula dancers and fire spinning. And at Emerald Bay, the beachfront was transformed into a dreamy outdoor lounge, with an accompanying coastal dining setup just steps from the water. For those who could not attend in person, we provided an opportunity to watch the broadcast from home and participate by bidding online. Some of the incredible auction items included a seven-night stay for 20 in a Punta Mita beachfront luxury villa, a VIP meet & greet with the Jabbawockeez, and a three-day Napa Valley getaway with private air for six. Whether virtual or in-person, we gave each of the locations a unique and unforgettable experience.
“Reflections of a Miracle” raised more than $1.5 million with over 135+ live and silent auction items. We are so proud to have partnered with Miracle for Kids on this hybrid event, and excited to continue producing safe and memorable experiences in the future.
