Ever been to a major red-carpet event? To put it mildly, it’s chaotic. There are dozens of publicists and PR managers jockeying for a position to get their celebrity in front of the best outlets on the red carpet. The press bullpen is jam-packed with photographers and video b-roll teams shouting names, trying to conduct interviews with red-carpet arrivals. The streets are jammed while security deals with guests being dropped off in front of the carpet. Screaming fans behind the barricades are trying to get the attention of their favorite star(s). It’s not hard to see how things could go very wrong very quickly.
